On The Edge: Three Playwrights In Conversation

Kefi Chadwick, Daniel Hoffmann-Gill and Mufaro Makubika discuss writing plays that expose the lives of people existing on the very fringes of society; exploring exclusion, discrimination, division and infiltration.

Kefi Chadwick is a multi award-winning writer. Her play Any Means Necessary was staged at Nottingham Playhouse in 2016. Her short films have screened all over the world including Tribeca film festival in New York. She is currently adapting Any Means Necessary for the screen.

Daniel Hoffmann-Gill was born and raised in St. Ann’s, Nottingham. He is an actor and playwright, and only writes plays about Nottingham. Seven so far. Recent work includes Our Style is Legendary, a play about growing up in inner city Notts in the 80s, and Kings, set in Somerville House in Forest Fields.

Mufaro Makubika is a playwright based in St Ann’s, Nottingham. Credits include How to Breathe (Nottingham Playhouse), Hood; The Legend Continues (New Perspectives and Theatre Royal Nottingham). He is under commission to Nottingham Playhouse.
