Workshop: Writing Across The Meridian Line

8th November 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm GMT

£24.95 - £28.95
Bromley House Library

Bromley House Library is home to both the archives of the British Sundial Society and one of very few surviving brass Meridian Lines, created to establish precise time-keeping for the city.

Participants will explore time as a subject and feature in poetry, from the linear measurements of Meridian Lines to the endless cosmic nights of Polynesian creation mythology and the seasonal cycles of pre-industrial English folk songs.

Wayne Burrows is a poet and tutor for Writing School East Midlands. His most recent publications are Eastern Bloc Songs: A Sampler and Exotica Suite & Other Fictions.

In Association with Writing East Midlands.

Please note that our Festival Pass does not include workshops.
